Joint Commission Life Safety Management

Effective management of life safety requires a comprehensive program that includes procedures for the ongoing inspection of common life safety elements (similarly to what was prescribed under the original Joint Commission Building Maintenance Program), management of the Plan for Improvement of the Statement of Conditions (SOC), and a hospital's existing maintenance management process.

The unique feature of ATG's comprehensive LSM solution is its ability to allow the inspection process and the SOC's Plan for Improvement (PFI) management to work seamlessly with most existing work order or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including TMS™ and Maximo™.

ATG's LSM allows a seamless process for the inspection and testing of the recurring life safety issues. Utilizing the LSM and SOC components of ATG’s Enterprise Active Visual System® the facility can then generate a variety of reports from the Web and without requiring any software including a report identifying the failed life safety elements, which is then submitted to the facility maintenance department.

 

Inspection data from a Pocket PC is automatically synchronized with element locations in the life safety CAD layouts.

Inspection data indicating failed life safety elements is automatically generated in a variety of reporting formats and can be integrated with a facility's existing work order system (see below).

Users can extract SOC data (see image below) directly from life safety layouts by simply clicking on an individual deficiency icon.

Users can generate PFI reports that are preformatted for uploading to The Joint Commission's eSOC web site.
